Product Focus: SHARPSGUARD® theatre+ container

We also pride ourselves on innovation, so it’s with great pleasure that we announced the launch of our SHARPSGUARD® theatre⁺ container, in April 2017.

The SHARPSGUARD® theatre is specifically designed for the safe disposal of long instruments and is ideal for theatres.

It is easy to carry and store with its inter-stackable design, features user-friendly disposal via a large, hands-free aperture and has a simple locking mechanism.

Not only that, it will save valuable time and money due to the generous usable capacity – 29% more than our previous theatre container – meaning you can dispose of more waste per container and won’t need to replace it as often. This, in turn, means fewer deliveries – another cost saver – and reducing C02 emissions in the process.

We have received great user feedback

But don’t just take our word for it. We carried out some user testing and the results were overwhelmingly positive with 96% of participants agreeing that the new container delivers more usable capacity, and more than eight in 10 people (81%) stating that it requires less storage space.

When you do need to replace the container, the disposal cost will be reduced as SHARPSGUARD® theatre is also lighter than our previous product.

In our end-user trial, almost three quarters (73%) of respondents said it is easy to assemble and more than four fifths (83%) of our user group agree that it’s easy to handle.

As you would expect of our products, SHARPSGUARD® theatre complies to exacting standards ISO 23907 and UN3291, and we offer ‘Point of Use’ training via a unique QR code. (Read more about our App here).

And although our user-testing revealed that 91% of participants said our new container was easy to use, our helpful online training videos will guide you through assembly to give you that extra support.

We hope this product enables hospitals and theatre teams to save crucial time and money when carrying out their vital work.
