Daniels Healthcare: Service Update
Since last week’s update, we have continued to address the difficulties we are having with our production, warehousing and distribution.
There is still much to do, but we have started to make headway with the production issues. Consequently, though still not what we would be happy with, we have this week been able to reduce the backlog we have in manufacturing.
We do still need to address the issues that are causing the problems in warehousing and distribution. We have continued to commit additional resources and expertise to this, including even more rigorous quality checks.
We are seeing that the combination of these are helping improve the accuracy of the stock that is being distributed to customers.
Clearing the bottlenecks in distribution will make a big contribution towards clearing the ongoing issues.
At the same time, we have also continued to explore how we might be able to use different or more flexible approaches to distribution with some product lines.
While it feels like we are making progress on these fronts, we are still aware that we are dealing with a complex set of inter-related issues. We need to look closely for any new issues that might emerge as we address existing ones.
Unfortunately, that means we continue to believe that it would not be responsible for us to commit to a time table to restore the normal service that we are usually so proud to provide.
We do appreciate that that continues to be a serious frustration for all of our customers. And we continue to believe in our commitment to be open about what is happening, even when things are not on the surface changing as much as we would like.
As we have also said before, please when you are placing new orders, try to give us as much lead time as you can.
