Team Focus: Lorraine Smith, Office Manager
This is part of a series of posts where we introduce each member of the Daniels Healthcare team, from across the organisation. We have a compliment of approximately 90+ staff members who all live and breathe the ethos of Daniels and you’ll get to meet many of them in this series.
Lorraine joined Daniels Healthcare in 2006 as a Commercial Executive and has progressed within the company over the past 12 years to become a crucial member of the Management Team.
Lorraine built her experience in customer service, office management and operational roles, and developed a diverse range of skills. This broad range of expertise includes people management, commercial prowess and a proficiency in IT.
She is now responsible for contracts and systems throughout Daniels. Her role covers procurement, supply chain management, Ts&Cs development, migrating software, providing sales figures and managing the office to ensure its smooth running.
Lorraine says: “I enjoy my role and its varied nature. I have grown with the company and I like the culture here. The team is great to work with and I love meeting people face-to-face to work together to tackle challenges and solve problems”.
When she’s not working, Lorraine is busy with her two sons, husband and West Highland White Terrier, Radley. She says her friends and family would describe her as straight talking, honest and committed.
That commitment is not only evident in her role with Daniels, but also in her new passion – running. Lorraine took up running last year, starting with a couch to 5k, with a goal to complete a half marathon in her 50th birthday year. And we’re thrilled to say that Lorraine did just that – completing the Oxford Half Marathon in under two hours! Well done Lorraine!
