Daniels team up with @WeNurses to help create MyWe

We are really, really excited to finally be able to share with you what we have been cooking up with the amazing team of Teresa Chinn, MBE (@AgencyNurse) and husband Nick (@NRCUK), the people behind @WeNurses.

I came across Teresa a good few years ago on my Twitter journey and was so pleased to see what she was doing and really enjoyed participating in the @WeNurses tweetchats (#WeNurses), that I reached out and made sure we got to talk. We both have a passion for social media and what it can do for business and for bringing people together and after a good while, we ended up talking about this MyWe project.

Daniels have been campaigning (as such) for more Twitter adoption within the IPS since 2012 and I have spent many, many weeks on the road talking to regional groups across the whole of the UK, sharing our social media journey with IP professionals. When Teresa and Nick told me about their idea for MyWe, I knew that we wanted to support them (@WeNurses) – we could see the difference they are making for the nursing communities and it matched what we were trying to get across to people in our field.

MyWe – a community initiative launched on Saturday 12th September
After many months of development, MyWe has launched! MyWe is a special area on the @WeNurses owned WeCommunities website that is driven by all #We tweets and the users engagement with each other on Twitter.
We CommunitiesThere are communities for Nurses; Paramedics; Commissioners; Mental Health Nurses; School Nurses; Pharmacists; Midwives; Learning Disability Nurses; Doctors; District Nurses; Allied Health Professionals; Children and Young Persons Nurses; Medical Students; GP Nurses; Health Visitors and End of Life Care.

The premise of MyWe is that it collates all the users interactions, allows them to earn badges for tweets sent, tweetchats involved in, members followed etc (i.e. for different levels of engagement). They are given suggestions of who to follow to build and increase their community. In addition to this people who are signed up to MyWe can use it to reflect on Twitter discussions as part of their Continuing Professional Development; MyWe know what Twitter discussions you have taken part in and guides you through a reflection which results in a PDF that you can upload (or download and print) to add to your professional portfolio.

So, if you are a registered nurse, come and join us on MyWe, its easy to register (you just use your Twitter account) and we’d love to see you there!

Special Note: Teresa will be on our stand at IP2015 – so make sure you stop by. Here’s a post to tell you a bit more about it.
