At Daniels Healthcare, we pride ourselves on exceptional customer service. Our Customer Support Team is always on hand to offer friendly, personal assistance and is focussed on making our customers’ lives easier when it comes to our products and services. I chatted to them recently about what the most common customer enquiries are, and in this blog post I reveal what these are and the all-important answers!

Q1: What do the different lid colours mean on the Daniels sharps containers?

A1: All of our SHARPSGUARD® containers and lids are colour co-ordinated for good reason. The kinds of waste that you need to dispose of are all very different and need to be handled differently. Our colour-coded system ensures that the person handling the sharp knows exactly which container or bin to use. This short video explains the system in a clear and concise manner.

Q2: I’d really like some posters about sharps to put up at the point of disposal. Do you have anything we can use?

A2: Yes! We have a wide range of resources which are free to download and use in your setting on our Training Materials web page.

Q3: The staff sometimes need a refresher about the specific container they’re using at Point Of Use. What’s the easiest way for me to provide this to them?

A3: Our handy app is perfect. The Daniels Healthcare App is free and easy to use. Staff simply scan the unique QR code on each container for Point Of Use training on how to use our SHARPSGUARD® containers. You can get it on Google Play or download it from the App Store.

Q4: I work in infection control and would like to ensure my Trust is using sharps as safely as possible to protect staff, patient and visitors. Can you offer any support with this?

A4: Yes! To support our customers in meeting all the latest sharps-related regulations, we offer a free Sharps Compliance Audit. During our audits, we check that best practice is being followed and highlight any potential non-compliance. In addition, we then provide appropriate training to teams, or on a 1:1 basis, to help address any gaps.

Q5: Do all of your products comply with the most up-to-date legislation?

A5: Yes. The SHARPSGUARD® sharps container ranges have been enhanced to enable compliance with the requirements of the Safe Management of Healthcare Waste guidance published by the Department of Health. The ranges include new colour coded containers, lids and labels in a variety of sizes, whilst retaining the very highest standards. The SHARPSGUARD® ranges are manufactured to BS EN ISO 23907, UN3291, AFNO NFX 30-511 and ISO 9002.

The POUDS® range helps you comply with EU Directive 2010/32 prevention from sharps injuries in the hospital and healthcare environments; and our WIVA containers comply with UN3291. For more information, visit our Product Page.
